Dealer Inventory Management Software

Software is only half the job. The other half is doing something about it.

LotWalk is a coach-led Lot Management System for used and new car dealers. Real-time inventory insights, at-risk alerts, stocking tools — plus a dedicated human coach who actually makes the data move the lot. Built for single-rooftop independents and multi-store groups across the US and Canada.

What it is

What dealer inventory management software actually should do.

Dealer inventory management software is the system a dealership uses to track, price, and manage new and used vehicles from acquisition to delivery. Good software connects to your DMS, pulls live market data, and tells the used car manager which vehicles need attention today — not in a weekly report nobody reads.

Most dealers already own at least one tool that does part of this. The industry has a long list of inventory platforms, pricing engines, and recon tools — and the list keeps growing. And yet the same two things keep happening on the lot:

  • Aged units pile up because nobody repriced them on the day they flipped.
  • Stocking gets reactive because nobody is looking at days supply by segment before Monday morning.

Software alone does not fix that. A human looking at the software, every week, with authority to make changes — that fixes it. That is the gap LotWalk was built to close.

Why dealers switch to LotWalk

Five problems our dashboard is built to solve.

01

Aged inventory is eating gross

Units sitting past 45 days hurt more than most dealers realize — days supply inflates, floorplan burns, and the price cuts come at the worst time. LotWalk flags at-risk units the day they flip, not the day they are gone.

02

Nobody owns the inventory meeting

Most stores have a weekly meeting that turns into a status update. LotWalk gives your used car manager the exact pull list — by unit — so the meeting ends with decisions, not talking points.

03

Stocking is reactive

Our stocking tool shows you what is actually turning at your price point in your market, so acquisition is built on days supply and gross — not gut feel or whatever auction ran yesterday.

04

Pricing gets stale

Market moves daily. Our pricing tool flags units that are off market by more than a threshold you set and recommends the move — so the water method actually gets applied.

05

The team has software, not a plan

This is the one nobody talks about. A great dashboard does not fix a team without a weekly plan. LotWalk Pro and Plus give you a dedicated Lotpop coach who writes the plan with you every week.

06

Reporting nobody reads

Our reporting is built for the used car manager, not the controller. One screen. Turn rate, days supply, aging, gross, at-risk. That is it.

How LotWalk compares

The Lotpop moat

The only Lot Management System with a dedicated human coach for your store.

Data is only as good as the actions that come from it. Every LotWalk Pro and Plus client gets a 1-on-1 Lotpop coach who digs into the numbers, sets the weekly plan, and keeps the team accountable — not a help desk ticket, not a chatbot, not a quarterly QBR.

Our coaches are former dealers, GMs, and used car managers. They know how a bad Monday feels. They also know what the top 10% of stores do differently, and they install those habits at your store over 90 days.

Why is my used car inventory not moving?

If your UCM is staring at a lot full of aged units, there are almost always five root causes, in this order: stocked wrong, priced wrong, photographed and merchandised wrong, not being worked by sales, and not being reviewed weekly. Software helps with the first three. A coach fixes all five.

Stocked wrong

You bought what was available at the auction instead of what was turning in your market. The fix is a stocking tool that tells you days supply by segment before you bid — and the discipline to walk away from the truck you wanted but didn't need.

Priced wrong

Your repricing cadence is monthly when it should be weekly (at least). Market moves, competitor listings change, and your unit looks expensive on the third-party sites by Thursday. The fix is a daily at-risk list and a pricing tool tied to market.

Not being worked

This one is a people problem, not a software problem. Sales manager has not assigned aged units. Nobody is personally on the hook. The fix is the Monday morning pull list and the used car manager holding names to units.

Aging inventory is rarely one thing. It is almost always a sequence. The win is catching it earlier in the sequence, every week, forever. That is the job of the software. That is the job of the coach. Together, that is LotWalk.

How to reduce aged inventory at a car dealership

The simplest playbook we give new clients:

  • Week 1: Pull the at-risk list. Reprice everything over 45 days to market. Flag anything that needs recon, photos, or a description rewrite.
  • Week 2: Assign every aged unit to a named salesperson. Set a daily walk-around cadence. Review Friday.
  • Week 3: Cut stocking on the segments that are not turning. Reinvest into segments with sub-60-day supply.
  • Week 4: Repeat. Forever. The dealers who win at this are not smarter. They are just more consistent.

LotWalk builds that cadence into your week and puts a coach next to your UCM while they install it. Most stores see measurable change in 30 days.

FAQ

Questions we get on every demo.

What is dealer inventory management software?
Dealer inventory management software is a system used by car dealerships to track, price, and manage new and used vehicles in real time. It typically connects to the dealership's DMS, pulls live market data, and helps used car managers identify at-risk units, set pricing, control days supply, and hit turn-rate targets. LotWalk goes further by pairing the software with a dedicated human coach.
How is LotWalk different from other dealer inventory tools?
Most dealer inventory tools are data tools. LotWalk is a Lot Management System — we give you the data plus a dedicated Lotpop coach who reviews your numbers weekly, builds the game plan, and holds the team accountable. Data is only as good as the actions that come from it, and most dealers are drowning in data without anyone driving the action.
How much does dealer inventory management software cost?
LotWalk starts at $495 per month for Core (data only), $1,495 for Plus (data + monthly coaching), and $1,995 for Pro (data + weekly 1-on-1 coaching). A one-time integration fee applies. Multi-rooftop and bundle pricing is available — get a monthly price estimate here.
Does LotWalk work for independent dealers?
Yes. LotWalk is designed for single-rooftop independents, franchise stores, and multi-store groups across the US and Canada. Independents often get the most leverage out of the coaching because they don't have a GM or corporate team doing weekly inventory reviews for them.
How long does it take to get set up?
Most dealers are live inside of two weeks. We pull your inventory feed, connect to your DMS, configure your dashboards, and schedule the kickoff coaching call. There is no long build-out period.
Do you work with dealers in Canada?
Yes. We support dealers across Canada with the same software and coaching. Pricing is quoted in USD with CAD billing available on request.
